The bombshell revelation that the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. Mark Milley may have conspired with communist China to overthrow a duly elected American president is almost unimaginable. Yet that is the claim made in new book by Washington Post associate editor Bob Woodward.
The 78-year old investigative reporter, best known for unraveling the Watergate scandal, along with his colleague Carl Bernstein in 1972, was instrumental in bringing down the Nixon White House.
The upcoming book titled “Peril” was written in collaboration with political reporter Robert Costa and alleges that General Mark Milley made two clandestine phone calls to his military counterpart, Gen. Li Zuocheng of the People’s Liberation Army in communist China.
The news (if true) has sent shockwaves throughout Capital Hill. However, former President Trump speculated on Tuesday that this may all be a ruse to deflect away from the real scandal. The humiliating evacuation of Afghanistan and its horrific aftermath. Even progressive Democrats like Senator Richard Blumenthal are now demanding accountability.
Milley told China in secret phone call that he would give advance warning if U.S. was ever going to attack!!!

"If we’re going to attack, I’m going to call you ahead of time. It’s not going to be a surprise.” https://t.co/bIYO1HFuVi
Trump appearing with his former press security and now NewsmaxTV host Sean Spicer weighed in on the growing scandal.
“So, first of all, if it is actually true, which is hard to believe, that he would have called China and done these things and was willing to advise them of an attack or in advance of an attack, that’s treason.”
Adding, “I’ve had so many calls today saying that’s treason, number one,” Trump continued. Acknowledging he was tough on China regarding trade and COVID-19, he went on to describe the idea that he would unilaterally attack China as “totally ridiculous.”
“For the record, I never even thought of attacking China, and China knows that. The people that fabricated the story are sick and demented, and the people who print it are just as bad. In fact, I’m the only President in decades that didn’t get the U.S. into a war, a well known fact that is seldom reported,” Trump added.
The former president has the uncanny ability to usually be right regarding controversial issues. In a prepared statement the former commander-in-chief, after appearing on Newsmax, released his belief that Milley may have fabricated the bombshell story himself and leaked it to Woodward and Costa. This move would perhaps be to take the heat off his disastrous decision regarding Afghanistan. Trump also described Woodward and Costa as journalists “who write fiction, not fact.”
The book chronicles Milley’s alleged calls before the 2020 presidential election on October 30th 2020, and again 2 days after the January 6th Capitol riot to communist China’s Gen. Li Zuocheng, assuring him that America is stable. Moreover, he would contact the Chinese general regarding any imminent attack from the U.S. in the waning days of Trump’s presidency.
Woodward and Costa claim that Milley contacted Li after Milley reviewed intelligence reports that suggested Chinese officials believed that America was planning an attack on China.
“General Li, I want to assure you that the American government is stable and everything is going to be OK,” Milley told him during the first call, the book said. “We are not going to attack or conduct any kinetic operations against you.”
Milley again contacted Gen. Li directly warning him of any potential attack; “Gen. Li, you and I have known each other for now five years. If we’re going to attack, I’m going to call you ahead of time,” Milley added, as reported by the book, “Peril,” which is set to be released next week. “It’s not going to be a surprise.”
Obviously, if any of this is true the military justice system needs to immediately begin an investigation and Milley needs to step down as the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. He’s already proven he’s unfit to lead the military and if these allegations are true he should then be tried for treason.
