Well, no one saw that coming from a mile away and two miles on Tuesdays. The reporter who broke the story about former President Bill Clinton having an allegedly secret meeting with then-Attorney General Loretta Lynch, was found dead on Saturday morning, reported by Washington Examiner, and you won’t believe what it’s being investigated as.
No seriously, just take one guess. If you said a word that rhymes with suicide, and sounds like suicide, and is allegedly suicide – then you guessed correctly.
His name is Christopher Sign, he was 45, and his body was found by Hoover police and fire staffers after someone dialed 911 to report a “person down” inside of a residence in Alabama, per Washington Examiner:
The body of 45-year-old Christopher Sign, a news anchor for ABC 33/40 in Birmingham, was discovered by Hoover police and fire personnel at around 8 a.m. following a 911 call about a person down in a residence in Alabama, according to AL.com.
Hoover police Lt. Keith Czeskleba said Sign’s death is being investigated a suicide, the report added.
Sign was an Emmy-award winning reporter with a treasure trove of accomplishments and a fun career playing football in college.
He also broke the story about Bill Clinton and Loretta Lynch, but of course there is no official or reported connection here, it’s just another person connected to the Clintons in one way or another who ends up, well, like that.
Here’s a video you should see before reading any further, because the reporter said it just all didn’t add up and goes even further:
The report continued:
“Our deepest sympathy is shared with Christopher’s loving family and close friends. We have lost a revered colleague who’s indelible imprint will serve forever as a hallmark of decency, honesty and journalist integrity. We can only hope to carry on his legacy. May his memory be for blessing,” ABC 33/40 vice president and general manager Eric Land said in a statement.
That is not the statement nor news his family and friends wanted to hear this week.
Sign, who played football at the University of Alabama and became an Emmy-award winning reporter, earned national headlines when he revealed the encounter between Lynch and Clinton on June 27, 2016, at the Phoenix’s Sky Harbor Airport at a time when the FBI was investigating former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s use of an unauthorized email server and the presidential election in which she was the Democratic candidate. The meeting took place days before then-FBI Director James Comey announced the bureau would not recommend charges against Hillary Clinton, Bill Clinton’s wife, for her emails. However, Comey called her handling of classified information “extremely careless.”
But this is where the theories will fly and no investigations will be made. Of course, if you want to go investigate something, be my guest – that’s on you, not us!
We may never know the true story of this man’s decision to take his life, or what really happened that day, but we do know it’s a terribly sad story and our hearts go out to his friends and family.
Would also like to change topics for a moment to joke about Kamala Harris being the worst vice president we’ve ever had. This has nothing to do with the story, but we certainly needed to change the topic and now, more than ever, was a great time to remind everyone about the only VP ever selected for their gender and race instead of skills – because really, what skills does Kamala Harris have?
Oh wait, don’t answer that. It’s probably not safe to say out loud.
