One of the numerous accomplishments achieved during the four years President Trump held office was how he reshaped the federal judiciary. Trump put constitutionalists on the bench.
As one might expect, Joe Biden has attempting to undo all the good Trump accomplished because he doesn’t believe America is (or should be) great. To a leftist with an agenda like Joe, the only way to build America back better is to completely destroy it.
The type of people Biden wants serving on the courts think the same way he does. And that’s bad news for everybody in the United States, whether they understand it or not.
From The Daily Wire:
A left-wing activist with ties to the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) and Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) nominated by President Joe Biden to be a federal judge has argued photo ID and proof of citizenship constitute “voter suppression.”
Nancy Gbana Abudu, the deputy legal director at SPLC, was picked by Biden in December to serve on the United States Court of Appeals for the 11th Circuit. The 11th Circuit covers parts of Alabama, Florida, and Georgia. The vacancy came about upon the retirement of Judge Beverly B. Martin — a President Barack Obama appointee.
[…]
In a 2011 interview dug up by The Daily Wire, Abudu asserted that “95 percent” of her work with the ACLU at the time involved “voting rights.” She notably said “photo ID” and “proof of citizenship,” two long-established requirements to vote, are indicative of “voter suppression:”
Obviously, we do a lot when it comes to voter suppression, which includes five priority areas: photo ID, proof of citizenship, restrictions we see when it comes to registration … early voting as well as absentee voting and the restrictions we see when it comes to criminal convictions. We also do a lot with student voting.
Throughout the 2020 election, Biden and his running mate, Kamala Harris, were asked time and again whether or not they would seek to increase the number of justices on the Supreme Court, in an effort to rebalance the judicial body after President Donald Trump was able to appoint several justices himself, which solidified a conservative majority.
Fearing that answering “yes” to the question would drive some voters away, Biden deferred. And dodged. And deflected.
But let’s be real. If he has the chance to do it, he’s packing the court.
From The Hill:
President Biden signed an executive order Friday establishing a commission to study whether to add seats to the Supreme Court and other reform proposals, the White House announced, fulfilling a promise he made on the campaign trail.
The commission will be chaired by former White House counsel Bob Bauer and Cristina Rodríguez, a Yale law school professor and former deputy assistant attorney general, and largely consists of academics and former officials from across the political spectrum.
CONTINUED:
It will delve into the issue of potentially expanding the court — an idea that has been floated by some progressives but heavily criticized by Republicans — and which Biden himself has been cool to, though without explicitly ruling out the option.
“The Commission’s purpose is to provide an analysis of the principal arguments in the contemporary public debate for and against Supreme Court reform, including an appraisal of the merits and legality of particular reform proposals,” the White House said in a release. “The topics it will examine include the genesis of the reform debate; the Court’s role in the Constitutional system; the length of service and turnover of justices on the Court; the membership and size of the Court; and the Court’s case selection, rules, and practices.”
Biden’s team has suggested that the work will be done out in the open, with public meetings meant to shore up public trust in the controversial move.
But obviously that is a lie.
