Losing a primary couldn’t have happened to a better Democrat Mayor.
Looks like the small town of Rochester, New York, could use an upgrade in mayor as this Mayor Lovely Warren has lost her primary and stated she will not run as a third-party candidate for reelection. The disgraced Democrat mayor served two terms and the loss of her primary wraps up her tenure as mayor.
Warren lost her primary to a Rochester Councilman and member of a school board. His name is Malik Evans and he’s now poised to takeover the top spot for mayor in this big Democrat city.
To make matters worse for Democrat Mayor Lovely Warren, she was also indicted on campaign finance fraud charges. Warren claims she did not break the law, as reported.
The indictment took place in 2020 and the details are staggering.
Warren was indicted on two felony campaign finance charges and if she had been convicted on time, then she would have been removed from office even sooner than losing her primary. Her first charge is first-degree scheme to defraud. The second charge Mayor Warren faces is for illegally coordinating activities and expenditures – an election law offense.
As stated in a report from October of 2020: “The grand jury indictment is connected to Warren’s 2017 mayoral re-election campaign. Warren has adamantly refused any wrongdoing in the matter. Warren and two campaign associates also indicted Friday will be arraigned at 4 p.m. Monday, Oct. 5, in front of Cayuga County Judge Thomas Leone in Monroe County.”
A news video also reviewed the indictment of Lovely Warren.
Further reported: “If convicted of the felony charges, Warren would be removed from office under state law. The maximum sentence would be 16 months to four years in prison, but Warren would be unlikely to be incarcerated. Her pension could be forfeited, however, if the matter is determined to be a crime related to public office, and she also could lose her law license.”
Besides losing her primary and facing felony charges, Mayor Lovely Warren is also married to an alleged drug trafficker who faced his own major scandal last year.
Nicole Silverio reported: “Police raided the couple’s Woodman Park home in May after obtaining a warrant against Warren’s estranged husband, Timothy Granison, for allegedly trafficking cocaine, according to Fox News. Warren claimed she has been estranged from her husband for years and had no knowledge relating to the charges brought against him, according to Syracuse.com. Granison is facing three felonies, two for drug possession and one weapons charge.”
With this Democrat accused of crimes, it seems like Rochester could be better off with any functional adult at this point.
