Late night network television is falling further into obscurity. We no longer have icons like Johhny Carson, David Letterman, even Jay Leno and Conan O’Brien. Now we have snarky Brits like Trevor Noah and washed-up comedians like Seth Myers and Jimmy Kimmel. Even Jimmy Fallon is so innocuous he just isn’t interesting. I guess trying to be the nice guy just doesn’t pay off. The biggest problem is the content. I have liked all of these comedians with the exception of Noah, who I had no idea existed before the Daily Show. I have even liked Stephen Colbert. I feel…

Remember when we (thought) we could trust our news outlets? Good times, right? Once upon a time, you could expect to get somewhat accurate and fair news from the major networks. Newspapers were trusted sources for local and regional coverage, and if you wanted national news, just go to the library and grab the USA Today or the New York Times, pop a squat and get caught up! Guess those days are over. Or really, did those days ever exist? In retrospect, it seems likely we were being fed whatever the political persuasion of your local outlet was, we just…

Something is out there, I’m sure of it! I’m not ashamed to admit it, but I LOVE Bigfoot sightings, ghost stories, UFO encounters, they are my jam! Give me some grainy footage of the Loch Ness Monster and I’m a happy fella! I would be one of those weird people “hunting” Bigfoots, but it would be my luck I would actually find him, and Bigfoot would capture me. It’s not like I don’t have experience in the field of sorts. I have videoed UFOs on 2 different occasions, and have professionally ghost hunted, equipment and all. No, not with “proton…

The lead pastor at the Village Church in Flower Mound, Tex., Matt Chandler, appeared to fight back tears as he told his congregation that he was taking a leave of absence. This was a move prompted by what his church’s leaders saw as inappropriate messages between him and a woman who is not his wife. Chandler explained that the leaders determined that the messages were not “romantic or s-xual.” “It was that our conversations were unguarded and unwise,” he said. About the nature of the messages, church officials went into scant detail with Chandler. Both his wife and the husband…

Broward School Board Members Patricia Good, Donna Korn, Ann Murray, and Laurie Rich Levinson were suspended from office by Governor Ron DeSantis. Due to their “incompetence, neglect of duty, and misuse of authority,” the move followed recommendations of the Twentieth Statewide Grand Jury to suspend these board members. These suspensions are effective immediately. “Each committed malfeasance, misfeasance, neglect of duty, and incompetence” in handling a campus safety program, page five references the grand jury report. Lives could be saved at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School with a program the Governor stated. “Each hereby suspended from the public office that they…

Democratic Georgia gubernatorial candidate Stacey Abrams, who claims to oppose police funding, has been co-chairing a left-wing group that has donated tens of thousands of dollars to anti-police activists. It is well known that Abrams lost the 2018 Georgia gubernatorial election to Republican incumbent Brian Kemp, whom she will face again this year. She falsely accused Kemp of stealing the election from her. She served as a board member of the Seattle-based Marguerite Casey Foundation. This foundation hosted an event in early February, titled, “Becoming Abolitionists—A History of Failed Police Reforms & Vision for True Public Safety,” According to her financial…

A coalition of more than 650 activist organizations is calling on Capitol Hill Democratic leaders to double down on Senator Joe Manchin III, who was crucial to the passage of the party’s massive climate and tax spending legislation. A letter urging Democrats in California and New York to abandon their promise to Manchin to pass legislation streamlining energy projects – including fossil fuels – was set to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Senate Majority Leader Charles E. Schumer by hundreds of Democratic-aligned climate and other advocacy groups. “We are writing to express our strenuous opposition to any additional fossil fuel…

Several Democratic Senate candidates suffered meltdowns, rejecting President Biden’s student loan relief plan a few hours after it was released, putting them at risk of losing their midterm elections this November. There doesn’t seem to be an agreement among Democrats at all levels, especially among those who are at risk of losing their seats to Republican opponents in the midterm elections this year. For many, this is a sign of concern that has the potential to alienate swing voters in November. Among the most vulnerable House and Senate Democrats seeking re-election this fall, a mere six have openly declared their…

The People of Praise, a Christian faith group that counts Amy Coney Barrett, the conservative supreme court justice as a member, and views women’s compliance and submission to men as one of its focal early teachings, as indicated by leaked remarks and reports of the spouse of one of the gathering’s originators. A recently leaked video of a People of Praise occasion, marking its 50th anniversary, shows Dorothy Ranaghan making sense of how a few female devotees of the congregation cried strongly in response to the gathering’s initial lessons on “headship” and the “roles of men and women,” in what men…

I grew up on a dairy and tobacco farm in Kentucky. We milked about 60 head of cows and sold the milk to the local dairy distributor. I’m not a big fan of dairy as a consequence; besides the unspeakable things it does to my system, I know firsthand how milk is made. When you think about milk, it’s kind of gross really. We happily drink and eat products made from a liquid squirted OUT of a large, long lashed animal. Who came up with that? Growing up we were brainwashed into thinking that dairy was essential for strong bones.…

Hopefully, good ol’ Joe will have his note cards telling him what to say as he tries to convey a message on Thursday about “the continued battle for the soul of the nation”. Calling the address a significant message, the White House said Biden would examine how America’s holding up in the world and its democracy is at risk – I wonder what he will try to sell the people this time because they won’t take responsibility for putting us in this position. The discourse will occur in Philadelphia and comes two months before the midterms – of course –…

London’s annual Notting Hill carnival which celebrates Caribbean pride and culture has once again descended into mass violence today as gangs turned up to “settle scores”. Former police chief, Roy Ramm said cops “dread” attending the festival which ends in violence almost every year because “drug sellers and gangs’ turn up to ‘mark their territory.” Yesterday, a former soccer player and rapper, Takayo Nembhard, 21, was fatally stabbed at the event, while police say six others were also stabbed during the course of the festival. Vile footage emerged earlier today of a white woman being punched to the ground by…

We live in a wild, dangerous, unpredictable world. That is just speaking of nature, never mind the people. People can be dangerous, wild and unpredictable in their own right, but at least they (usually) won’t eat you like an alligator, bite you like a rattlesnake, or boil you alive like a hot spring. Wait, what? Yes, America has natural water coming out of the ground so hot it will melt your face off. Yellowstone National Park is situated on a super volcano. Yes, a super volcano. That sounds way more menacing than a regular volcano. Truth is, if the volcano…

They say life imitates art, right? I don’t know if you really consider a network sitcom “art”, but if you were to, “All in the Family” would be a good place to start. The iconic 70’s sitcom about a super conservative New York City man and his ultra-liberal daughter and son in law is relevant more now than ever, and just as funny as it was in the 70’s. While I didn’t always understand what my parents were laughing at, I certainly do now. Life imitating art and all, right? Archie Bunker, the ultra-conservative father often sparred verbally with his…

Karine Jean-Pierre is such a treat. Not in a good way, mind you, but she never fails to entertain us with her lack of preparation and knowledge on the issues. Karine isn’t even good at lying. Perhaps never in the history of our country have we had such an inept WH press secretary. Truth is, Karine was a diversity hire, and it shows every time she opens her mouth. Say what you want about Peppermint Psaki, but at least she was a skillful liar and was prepared with her lies. Karine Jean-Pierre stutters and stammers like you caught her off…

People love cats. I love cats. The ancient Egyptians loved cats so much, they treated them like gods, often burying their cats with them to protect them in the afterlife. Do cats love people? Not so much. A cat loves you on its own terms, when it feels like it, and when it is done, it will just bite you and walk away. Awesome! Cats don’t really care about your feelings or emotions, and unless you have food, often won’t even acknowledge your existence. Fine with me! I have cats, but I’m more of a dog guy. At least they…

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have long been riding the climate change bandwagon for some time now. In 2021, they pledged to make all their business activities have a net-zero carbon footprint by 2030 at the United Nations Climate Change Conference, COP26. The announcement came after Prince Harry and Meghan were called out over the past year for taking what seemed to be unnecessary jet trips (mainly Harry choosing to fly a private jet to a polo match). In 2019 the Prince was criticized by Piers Morgan in his column in the Sun for continuing to fly private jets. “It takes…
