The newly revealed Justice Department records show the hidden censorship tactics of the Obama administration to silence writer Jim Bovard’s criticism of then-Attorney General Eric H. Holder Jr. A senior Justice Department official attempted to intimidate USA Today into ceasing publication of Bovard’s commentary, according to documents uncovered by a Freedom of Information Act request made by Bovard. In 2015, former Justice Department spokesman Brian Fallon emailed USA Today editors and tried to intimidate them about why they had allowed Bovard to criticize Holder. “Mr. Bovard is not a columnist for the paper, and his take on Mr. Holder is…

Like husband like wife? Jill Biden has put her foot well and truly in it as she insulted the Latino community in a speech about Hispanic inclusivity yesterday as she likened the minority group to “breakfast tacos” and, much like her husband, made a series of other embarrassing gaffes. Her remarks sparked criticism among members of the community and The National Association of Hispanic Journalists, who said the First Lady should not stereotype Hispanic people: “We are not tacos. Our heritage as Latinos is shaped by a variety of diasporas, cultures and food traditions, and should not be reduced to…

I’m a hardcore music fan. Always have been. As a kid, since we only had three channels (I’m old), most of my evenings would be spent listening to the local FM DJ’s as opposed to watching whatever my parents were watching. Thus began my love of music. Country was never really my thing, but country in the 70’s and 80’s was vastly different from what it is now. The so-called ‘bro” country dominates the airwaves and the concert stages. Truth be told I like it way more than any of the more traditional stuff my parents listened to. Having attended…

Another attack on America’s rights has been engaged in the name of safety when Joe Biden on Monday said that gun violence has transformed the communities in America into “killing fields” as he marked the passage of the first critical government gun ‘safety’ legislation in over twenty years. Biden said that the package he endorsed into regulation addresses “an important start,” but more needs to be done to combat the massive gun violence we see here in America. How much more? Probably until all the guns are taken from law-abiding citizens, and we all have to depend on the government for protection.…

The United States of America was established by former British subjects who invested considerable thought, debate, and compromise in creating our founding documents. As with anyone who develops a business model or any other organizational structure, there were some assumptions our “Founding Fathers” had to include in their decision-making process. They envisioned that those who would be elected, especially the President overseeing the Executive Branch, would put their nation and its citizens’ interests in front of all others. Unfortunately, their ideals faded considerably over the past 2 plus centuries, leaving the citizenry to deal with enemies from outside and within…
