The CATO Institute has once again named Florida as the most economically free state in the nation. For the past few years, Florida has ranked first in the CATO’s Freedom in the 50 States assessment of economic and personal freedom. This ranking is determined by economic freedom. Individuals in Florida are not subject to a state income tax, according to CATO’s ranking analysis. “Florida’s state-level tax collections are more than 1.5 standard deviations below the national average, whereas its local tax collections are a little lower than average,” the organization noted. “Florida’s fiscal decentralization does not offer a great deal…

I can’t lie, sometimes I lie! Everyone does, it’s just human nature. One of our earliest impulses is to lie our butts off! Ever seen a video of a little kid who clearly is caught in the act, either blame the dog, or their sibling, or just pretend they have no clue what you are talking about? Pretty hilarious sometimes, especially when a kid does it. When the Vice President of the United States does it? Not quite as funny, even though it can be spectacularly hilarious. I haven’t had too many jobs in my adult life; automotive work, restaurant work, writing, some farm work growing up. One of my favorite things however was throwing the birthday parties as a crew person at McDonald’s. If you aren’t familiar, back in the day McDonalds, for a fee would host birthday parties, complete with Happy Meals, balloons, games and an incredibly delicious cake. Don’t think I didn’t help myself to all of that sugary goodness I could get my hands on. I always enjoyed interacting with the kids, flirting with the moms, (don’t judge) and it was an opportunity…

We don’t always pay too much attention to what our Sun is up to. I mean, it’s there, does its job, and sleeps at night. Good enough for most of us. But the Sun, like all dwarf yellow stars, is still a star and is still capable of sending out powerful solar flares to reach the Earth and cause some damage. Scientists believe that the giant sunspot AR3089 is about to erupt on the surface of the Sun and is facing toward the Earth.
